Thermacare Heatwraps Review

Having a mild case of SPD with this pregnancy I was relived when I was asked to review the Thermacare Heatwraps for www.mummynews.co.uk. I feel uneasy with taking any kind of painkillers with pregnancy so these fit my situation perfectly!

Generally my lower back starts playing up after a day on my feet so I choose to test the 'lower back & hip' wrap when I had spent the day decorating the nursery. I figured that was bound to set it off so waited for that twinge to start & excitedly stuck the wrap around my waist as instructed. After what only seemed like 15-20 minutes I had noticed the wrap heat up & start to generate a warm, comfortable & easing feeling.

I had thought when applying the product that it might slip or become uncomfortable after a while but I managed the full 8 hours wear with no niggles or dodgy looking re-adjustments. I can highly recommend this product for anyone suffering with any level of back, side or neck pain. So much so I've got myself a few for my changing bag...just incase!

With the second wrap being for a completely different area I decided to try using the Upper Back, Neck, Shoulder & Wrist HeatWrap after one of my weekly physiotherapy sessions as I normally come home feeling like a punch-bag. Again it was easy to affix to the area & stayed put for the advised 12 hours. With it being a much smaller wrap I didn't get the same effect as quickly but it did help in between my should blades for long enough to keep active for a bit longer than normal.

The website www.thermacare.com or www.backexperts.co.uk/about-thermacare.aspx shows the full range of the products available for purchase, gives handy advice, tips and videos on how to have a better back all year round.

MUMS SPEND 2 MONTHS OF THE YEAR CARRYING THEIR KIDS

Almost half (48%) of mums who suffer aches and pains say lifting up their kids causes the most strain. This is not surprising after a new survey revealed one in five mums carry their kids around for four or more hours a day when they are young – this equates to a full two months spent carrying their child over a year!

One in 20 (5%) of the women, who were part of a survey of 3,000 men and women carried out by ThermaCare® HeatWraps, say their muscular or joint pain was initially caused as a direct result of pregnancy while 7% say lifting their child was the initial trigger.

The survey further revealed the impact muscular aches and pains have on everyday parenting activities with 22% finding the constant tidying up after their kids a strain, whilst 18% find bath time a back ache, and just over one in 10 (12%) say play time and pushing a pram leaves them aching.
More than one in ten (11.99%) parents say muscular or joint pain interrupts their time with their children on a daily basis, while one in five says it is a nuisance a few times a week.

ThermaCare® Lower Back & Hip HeatWraps are specifically designed to keep up with people who want to put back pain to one side and get on with the day, allowing you to keep on working or resting without restriction. The patented heat cell technology gives deep penetrative therapeutic relief, that lasts up to 16 hours* and is as effective as taking six ibuprofen tablets**.
